Who we are ...

We are Jacoba Istel-Slooten and

Ann-Kristin Crusius, architects who first met during our studies at the University of Wuppertal.

After years of gaining experience in different offices and countries, a coincidence brought us back together in Amsterdam.

In 2025, we decided to join forces and founded studio cia

What connects us is a sensitivity to context, whether historic, social, or ecological and a shared commitment to sustainability and detail.

With backgrounds that span both architecture and landscape, local and international perspectives, we design projects that bring together people, place, and environment.
