Modern living in a historic basement

This renovation transforms the basement of a compact historic house in Marken into a modern and comfortable living space. One of the most striking features is a 150-year-old brick water tank, which is now carefully integrated into the new bathroom design, a unique element that connects past and present.

We provided the full room layout, including the electrical plan, heating plan with floor heating, and custom solutions for lighting and comfort. In addition, we designed DIY furniture plans to make the most of the limited space in a practical yet personal way.



The project balances modern materials and layouts with authentic details, preserving the character of the house while adding light, functionality, and warmth. The result is a basement that works for contemporary living, without losing its historic soul.
