For the Natuurhuisje Suikerbossie extension, we were asked to design a new bedroom that would add comfort while staying true to the character of the house.

We developed three design options, each exploring a different way of bringing in light, space, and connection to the surrounding nature.

The client’s favorite turned out to be the option they had never imagined themselves: a modern, open design that creates a natural flow, maximizes daylight, and frames the view of the outdoors.

This design not only makes the new bedroom feel spacious and serene, but also strengthens the relationship between the existing house and its environment.

The result is a thoughtful and seamless extension, an inviting retreat that enhances the experience of the Natuurhuisje while giving guests a bright and comfortable place to stay.
